FAQs
What are the moons and suns made of?
The moons and suns are made of an air dry paper clay. It is fun to sculpt and shape, and takes detail very well. When this clay is completely dry, it is as durable and solid as soft wood. I then give the basic sculpted shapes their facial characteristics with paint, followed by two coats of an acrylic varnish. Sometimes I add stones and other adornments to complete the piece.
What is a sun or moon macaron?
A macaron is a meringue based sandwich cookie. The macarons I make are like those cookies in that they have two sides that make up the whole sandwich and are comparable in size. The two sides will have a similar theme going on, but the expressions will be different from each other creating lots of fun and excitement! My moon and sun macarons are not edible, so don’t eat them. I really wished that I could have called them Moon Macaroons because the rhyming is so much better, but that is how the cookie crumbles.
What is a Twiggan and what are they made of?
Twiggans are not as small as the name implies. I probably should have called them “Branch-ans". They are made of various wood (I do have my favorites), and are carved from branches and smaller pieces. Some of the added features are made from paper clay and other materials. They often have movable arms and legs, and always have a story to tell. Twiggans are my connection to the unseen forest life.
Can I request a custom order?
Yes! Please contact me through my contact page and we can get the ball rolling!.
Can I reserve an item?
Simply, no. To be fair to all of my customers, both online and loyal local friends, I will offer a selection of items in online pop-ups and also at shows. When they are gone, they are gone. If something sells out, I am definitely interested in making it again. Although no two will be alike. So the best plan is to keep looking at my social media and you'll see what moons, etc. are coming up next.

Can I put my moons or suns outside or hang the macarons from my rearview mirror?
All of my artwork here should be kept indoors. The larger 4” single-faced full moons or suns are ready to hang on your wall. The macarons come with a hanging loop and are happy to be swinging from a plant or hook or knob that lets them twirl a bit.
Why yes, you can hang a macaron from your car's rearview mirror! I experimented with a moon macaron that's been hanging inside my car since March of 2024 and it's doing just fine! Since I live in Wisconsin with all kinds of weather, I believe my experiment is complete. However, I do caution about a downpour situation in a convertible. Do not attach them to your key ring. As for the Twiggans, an indoor table or wall suits them just fine.
Are these for kids?
It depends on the child. Though playful in appearance, these are for grown people who like these kinds of interesting things. Some kids are great about having collectibles and taking care of them. Just know that they can break if handled roughly.
